Bulldogs travel to take on UMass Lowell Wednesday night at 7 p.m.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – After a tough double overtime loss, the Bryant University men's soccer team travels to Massachusetts Wednesday night to take on UMass Lowell in pursuit for their second win of the season.

The Bulldogs (1-3-2) have been off to an unlucky start, facing overtime or double overtime in four of their six matches this season, including a 3-2 loss in the last 21 seconds of play in their latest game against Rider.

The River Hawks (4-3-0) defeated their last opponent, 1-0, at home against Hartwick.

This match marks the third time the two teams have met in Division I play. Last season, the Bulldogs trumped the River Hawks, 1-0, in Smithfield. The year prior, the Black and Gold overpowered Lowell on their turf in a 3-2 victory.

Sophomore Thomas Binder (Vienna, Austria) continues to perform up front for the Bulldogs, notching a goal in each of the last two games, including the winning score against Buffalo (Sept. 13).

Senior Brett Larocque (Ottawa, Ont.) still tops the points chart, totaling six off two goals and two assists. One of those helpers led to the tying score by graduate student Sam Trueman (Bristol, England), keeping the Bulldogs' fight alive against Rider.

Senior keeper Chris Knaub (Yarmouth, Maine) remains in net for the Black and Gold, tallying 19 saves on the season.

The River Hawks have started sophomore goalie Austin Kroll in all seven games, recording 20 saves on the season. Lowell's attack is led by junior Wuilito Fernandes with six points off two goals and two assists.

The match is set to start at 7 p.m. in Lowell. Fans can follow along with stats at bryantbulldogs.com or the live broadcast at americaeast.com
