Bulldogs host Pioneers Sunday at 1 p.m.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – After starting league play on the road at 0-1-1, the Bryant University men's soccer team returns home for their first conference match in Smithfield against Sacred Heart on Sunday at 1 p.m.

In their latest match, the Bulldogs (2-6-3, 0-1-1) were held scoreless in Brooklyn, losing to LIU Brooklyn, 1-0, while holding St. Francis Brooklyn to a 0-0 draw last week.

The Pioneers (1-6-1, 0-2) are coming off a five-game losing streak, falling to St. Francis U., 6-1, in their most recent game.

Last years' match in Connecticut resulted in a double-overtime draw (1-1) between the two teams, with the Bulldogs striking first during regulation.

Sophomore Dylan Santos leads the Pioneers offensively, recording six points off three goals, while senior Brett Larocque (Ottawa, Ont.) tops the Bulldogs' points-chart (10) with four scores and two helpers.

Bulldogs' senior keeper Chris Knaub (Yarmouth, Maine) has had a strong presence between the pipes, gathering 32 saves and two shut outs in nine games. Pioneers' senior goalie Tucker Hackett has tallied 40 saves with 21 goals against, while recording one shutout against Stony Brook.
