Bulldogs announce 2019 schedule

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's soccer team and head coach Seamus Purcell have announced the 2019 schedule. The Bulldogs kick off the season on the road in California against Big West Champion UC Riverside on Aug. 30.

The trek to the west coast makes history for the Black and Gold signifying not only the first all-time meeting with UC Riverside but with Cal State Fullerton as well. UC Riverside conquered the Big West Conference by topping Cal State Fullerton in a 3-2 overtime decision, before a thrilling championship game that ended in PKs against UC Davis.

Before making their way back to the Ocean State, the Bulldogs make a stop at Siena on Sept. 8 to meet with the Saints for the first time in history.

Bryant returns on Sept. 15 to begin a five-game home slate first with Howard, followed by UMass (Sept. 17) and Brown (Sept. 22) to close out the non-conference schedule.

The home stretch concludes with the start of Northeast Conference play as the Bulldogs host Sacred Heart (Sept. 29) and Central Connecticut (Oct. 14).

The Bulldogs hit the road for Robert Morris (Oct. 11), Saint Francis U (Oct.13), and St. Francis Brooklyn (Oct. 18) before coming back home to Smithfield on Oct. 25 to meet with Mount St. Mary's.

After falling to Long Island in the NEC final, the Bulldogs meet with the Sharks in Brookville, New York, on Oct. 27, before playing the last home match of the regular season against Fairleigh Dickinson on Nov. 1.

The Bulldogs close out the season by welcoming Merrimack to the Northeast Conference on Nov. 10 in North Andover, Mass. The Warriors finished their Division II campaign with a 13-6 overall record and an 8-5 record against conference opponents. Merrimack fell in the NE-10 final to Adelphi, 2-0.
