DaCosta named NEC Player of the Week

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University men's soccer senior Alex DaCosta (Bristol, R.I.) was named the Northeast Conference Player of the Week on Tuesday.

DaCosta tallied five points on the week, scoring the game-winning goal in both games against UMass and Brown. He now ranks sixth nationally in assists/game and seventh nationally in total assists.

Against UMass, DaCosta finished off a beautiful build up by the Black and Gold, burying a shot into the lower right corner to break a 1-1 tie with 16:40 left in the game. DaCosta was at it again on Sunday against in-state rival Brown, assisting on the first goal of the game before scoring seven minutes later on a great run down the wing.

The Bulldogs open NEC play this weekend when they welcome Sacred Heart to Smithfield on Sunday afternoon. First touch is set for 1:00 p.m.
