Ablanedo named to CSC Academic All-District Team

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Senior defender Pablo Ablanedo of the Bryant University men's soccer team was named to the 2023 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team by the organization on Tuesday afternoon.

The Academic All-District teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

Ablanedo was a mainstay of the Bryant backline in their historic 2023 season. He played in all 20 games and started 19 of those matches. The Gijon, Spain native helped the Bulldogs become one of the best defenses in the nation, leading the country in shutout percentage and only allowing six goals all season. Ablanedo also tallied an assist on the season against Binghamton in the America East Conference Semifinals.

Off the field, the team captain has accumulated a 3.94 GPA while studying sociology.
