PITTSBURGH, Pa. - It was another super Sunday for the Bryant University men's and women's swim teams at the ECAC Championships.  The Bulldogs turned in another fine record-setting performance on the final day championships with another four school records set and capped off a marvelous weekend in the final scoring.

A year ago, the Bryant women placed 21st at the meet with 18 points. This year, thanks to a solid performance by the entire team, the Bulldogs finished 12th out of 24 teams with 119 points total.

The men had a huge weekend as well.  The Bulldogs also placed 12th at this year's championships with 101 points scored, up from their 15th-place finish (69 points) from a year ago.

Highlighting the final day's action on Sunday was the performance of freshman Casey Ostrander (Yarmouthport, Mass.).  Ostrander placed sixth in the prelims of the 200 backstroke in the morning, setting a new school record in the process.  She touched the wall in a time of 2:03.66, shattering her previous school mark of 2:09.36 and qualified for a spot in the A finals later in the day.

In the finals, Ostrander swam an amazing race, placing fourth in the finals and lowering the school record even further, this time coming in at 2:01.93, an incredible eight seconds better than the previous school mark coming into the day.

On the men's side, Kevin McDonald (North Haven, Conn.) had a fine day in the men's 200 backstroke.  McDonald earned a spot in the B final with a 15th-placing in the prelims in 1:56.63.  And in the final, he too had an incredible race, finishing 14th overall and setting a new school record with a great time of 1:55.29.

Alex Kosenski (Lavalette, N.J.), who has had an incredible weekend at the University of Pittsburgh Pool as the sophomore finished fifth in the prelims of the men's 100 free in a school record time of 46.60, well ahead of the previous mark of 47.88 and would later place sixth in the finals in a time of 46.70.

Freshman Molly Smith (Belmont, Mass.) got into the record-setting act with a solid 15th-place finish in the prelims of the women's 200 breaststroke in 2:26.83, breaking her previous school mark set two weeks ago at the NEC Championships and qualifying for the B finals Sunday afternoon.  In the finals, Smith would finish 16th overall in 2:27.28.  Teammate Brianne Dwyer(Hicksville, NY) was 20th in the prelims in 2:29.09, a season-best for her.

Other highlights on the final day include Amy D'Olympia's (Mattapoisett, Mass.) 29th place finish in the prelims in a season-best time of 54.72 while Jill Squillante (Sayville, NY) was 33rd in a season-best 55.03.

The two teams wrapped up the meet with great performances in the 400 free relay.  The women's team of Ostrander, D'Olympia, Dwyer and Squillante finished seventh in the finals in a time of 3:37.85.

The men's team of Kosenski, Steve Sinclair (Middleton, Mass.), Steve Nguyen (San Jose, Calif.), and McDonald, was eighth overall in the finals of the 400 freestyle relay, earning a medal for their performance and going out in style by setting another school record, this time coming in at 3:11.12.

Congratulations Bulldogs on a great weekend !
