SWIM TEAMS HOST HOLY CROSS AT CHACE POOL WEDNESDAY STARTING AT 6 PM

SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- The Bryant University men's and women's swim teams return home Wednesday evening to host to the College of Holy Cross in a non-conference meet starting at 6 pm at the Chace Athletic Center. Both Bryant teams enjoyed a very successful weekend in upstate New York at the Siena College Quad meet on Sunday.  In the first competition after the holiday break and training in the cool waters of Florida, the Bulldogs captured several first place finishes on both the men's and women's side and saw three school records fall.

Bryant freshman Molly Smith of Belmont, Mass picked up three first-place finishes while setting two new school records.  Classmate Casey Ostrander of Yarmouthport, Mass and Barnstable High School also set a school record. Steve Nguyen had a pair of wins to lead the men at the Siena meet.

Wednesday's meet is the final home meet of the year for the men while the women will host Northeast Conference rival Sacred Heart next week.  Last year, the Holy Cross women's swimming team defeated the Bulldogs at the Hart Center, 150-112. Senior Maggie Gousman led the Crusaders with three individual first place finishes and one relay victory.  The Holy Cross men will look to avenge last year's loss the Bulldogs, 139-123 in Worcester.  The Crusaders were led by senior Brian Livingston's first place finish in the 50 breast with a time of 29.31 and a first place finish in the 100 breast with a time of 1:04.55 in last year's meeting.
