MEN'S SWIMMING DROPS SEASON OPENER TO BOSTON COLLEGE, 137-114

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's swimming team opened its 2010 season with a strong showing against Boston College over the weekend, capturing six of 14 events. Despite the solid performance, the Bulldogs dropped the dual match, 137-114, to the Eagles.

The men's side was led by Kevin McDonald (North Haven, Conn.) who finished first in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 55.56 and took first place in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:02.08.

Senior Steve Nguyen (San Jose, Calif.) also took the top spot in several events including the 600 yard freestyle and the 200yard individual medley. Nyguen finished the 500 yard freestyle in just 5:10.45 and registered a time of 2:05.92 in the medley.

The Bulldogs return to the pool Saturday, October 23 at Boston University for a tri-meet with the University of Maine.
