BRYANT MEN'S SWIMMING RACES PAST FAIRFIELD; SIX SWIMMERS EARN TOP SPOTS

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's swimming team captured 11 events against Fairfield University Saturday afternoon, giving the Bulldogs a 166.00 to 96.00 victory over the visiting Stags. The Black and Gold set several pool records and had six different swimmers register a first place finish.

Junior Alex Kosenski (Lavallette, N.J.) paced the Black and Gold with a remarkable three first place finishes. Kosenski set a pool record in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:46.23 and produced a time first place time of 48.03 in the 100-yard freestyle event. In addition, Kosenki walked away with a first-place time of 22.17 in the 50-yard freestyle, giving the New Jersey native two new pool records.

Joining his fellow classmate, Kevin McDonald (North Haven, Conn.) raced to first place in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 54.26.

Steve Nguyen (San Jose, Calif.) also recorded two first place finishes in the 1000-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle, as the senior recorded times of 10:23.67 and 5:00.13 respectively. Matt Derwin (Chesire, Conn.) added to the scoring with a win in the 200 butterfly.

Freshman Nicholas Karadimas (New Milford, Conn.) won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 54.19, joining Cameron Hessler (Southbury, Conn) as the only other freshman to record a top place finish.

The Bulldogs return to action Friday, December 3rd at the University of Rhode Island Invitational.
