BRYANT MEN SWIM PAST ST. FRANCIS (NY) AND NJIT SATURDAY AFTERNOON

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Junior Alex Kosenski (Lavallette, N.J.) generated four first-place finishes Saturday afternoon, as the Bryant University men's swimming team swam past NJIT 152.0-83.0 and St. Francis (NY) College 145.0-98.0. Giving the Black and Gold their first two homes wins in 2011.

Nathan Lee (Monson, Mass.) garnered Swimmer of the Meet honors on the men's side for the first time this season. Lee finished second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 57.71 and third in the 50-yard freestyle with a 22.82 mark.

The Bulldogs also received a solid performance by Steve Sinclair (Middleton, Mass.) who claimed first in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:05.79, and was part of a 400-yard Medley Relay that earned four points and a second-place finish.

Cameron Hessler (Southbury, Conn.), Sean Martell (Nashua, NH), Thomas Hyunh (Malden, Mass.) and Logan Hammerstein (Fairfield Township, Ohio) took first in the 400-yard MR with a time of 3:50.51, giving Bryant 11 points and the top two spots in the race.

The Black and Gold are back in action next Saturday against Stony Brook. The meet is scheduled for 1 p.m. and will mark the final home meet for several Bryant swimmers.
