BRYANT SWIMMING SET TO COMPETE AT DARTMOUTH INVITATIONAL

SMITHFIELD, R.I. –The Bryant University men's and women's swim teams return to action this afternoon, as the Black and Gold travel north for the inaugural Dartmouth Invitational at the Upper Valley Aquatic Center in White River Junction, VT. The event starts Friday at 5 p.m. with five events, and will continue on Saturday at 10 a.m. The two-day meet consists of four teams besides Bryant; Dartmouth, Maine, UMass, and Boston College.

Both the men's and women's squads have faced off against Maine twice and Boston College once, generating a combined 1-5 mark against the Black Bears and the Eagles. The men posted a 1-2 mark in head-to-head competitions, losing to Boston College but were able to exchange wins with the Black Bears in the final two weekends of October. The women's team dropped all three outings and have not registered a win against these two opponents since joining the Division I ranks.

On the men's side, the Bulldogs will look to level the series against the Eagles while picking up their fourth win in the last five outings. Despite falling against Stony Brook, Bryant has knocked off URI, NJIT and St. Francis (NY) en route to garnering a 5-6 mark in dual meets this season.

On the women's side, freshman Taylor DeBever (Denver, Colo.) looks to continue her dominance in the water after coming off her second-straight NEC swimmer of the week selection earlier this week. The Bulldogs enter the weekend with a 5-9-1 overall mark this season but have received record-breaking performances from several different swimmers including DeBever and sophomore Casey Ostrander (Yarmouthport, Mass.).

Bryant will travel to Holy Cross Feb. 5 for the team's final dual meet of the season.
