Bryant finishes sixth in Copa Coqui meet

RESULTS

Puerto Rico – Powered by a first- and second-place finish from junior Casey Ostrander(Yarmouthport, Mass.), the Bryant University men's and women's swimming team finished sixth among 10 teams in the Copa Coqui meet in Puerto Rico.

The Bulldogs were one of seven Division I schools competing in the meet, and were joined by three teams from Puerto Rico. Also competing were the University of Notre Dame, Southern Illinois University, University of Connecticut, the United States Military Academy and the University of South Dakota.

An 18-time winner for the Black and Gold already this season, Ostrander won the 100 meter back with a time of 1:07.95 and finished second in the 50 meter free with a time of 27.82.

The Bulldogs also received strong finishes from junior Molly Smith (Belmont, Mass.) and sophomore Taylor DeBever (Denver, Colo.). Smith finished sixth in the 100 meter breast and eighth in the 200 meter IM. DeBever placed seventh in the 100 meter free and eighth in the 100 meter back.

On the men's side, senior Alex Kosenski (Lavallette, N.J.) finished fifth in the 100 meter free with a time of 55.48 and sixth in the 50 meter free with a time of 25.34.
