Kosenski and Bjornberg lead way at Terrier Invite

BULLDOGS LED BY KOSENSKI AND BJORNBERG AT TERRIER INVITE

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Graduate student Alex Kosenski (Lavallette, N.J.) and freshman Joshua Bjornberg (Wallingford, Conn.) each earned a pair of top-10 finishes as the Bryant University men's swimming and diving team wrapped up competition at the Terrier Invite held at the Boston University Aquatic Center over the weekend.

Kosenski's and Bjornberg's accomplishments helped the Bulldogs finish out a strong weekend at the invitational. The Black and Gold finished sixth last season.

In the same pool a year ago, Kosenski earned finishes of fourth and sixth in the 100 and 200 free, respectively. This season, Kosenski matched his finish in the 200 before claiming a third-place finish in the 100. He was under a second off the winner in the 100, touching the wall with a time of 46.51. Kosenski finished with a time of 1:42.23 in the 200 and then earned 11th and 17th-place finishes in the 50 and 500, respectively.

One of Bryant's top breaststrokers in his first season on campus, Bjornberg continued to excel this weekend at the Terrier Invitational. He recorded top-10 finishes in each of the breast events, finishing seventh in the 200 breast with a time of 2:10.65. Bjornberg's time of 59.72 earned him an eighth-place finish in the 100 breast.

The Bulldogs also received strong performances from sophomore Graham Beck (Danvers, Mass.) and freshman Brendan Miller-Radest (Chatham, N.J.). Beck finished 10th in both the 100 and 200 breast. He touched the wall in a time of 1:00.18 in the 100 and 2:11.15 in the 200. Swimming in the 1650 for the first time as a collegian, Miller-Radest performed admirably, finishing ninth with a time of 16:58.52.

Bryant will now enjoy Thanksgiving before heading to Kingston, R.I., to compete in the Harold Anderson Invitational hosted by the University of Rhode Island. The invitational begins on Friday, Nov. 30 and ends on Saturday, Dec. 1.
