BULLDOGS FINISH SECOND BEHIND ANOTHER STRONG RELAY PERFORMANCE

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's swimming and diving team won all four relay events to earn a second-place finish at the Harold Anderson Invitational over the weekend.

The Bulldogs nearly won the invitational but fell just shy, finishing with 769 points, two behind the champion University of Maine. Providence tied the Black and Gold for second and Holy Cross and Rhode Island rounded out the teams.

After winning the 200 free and 400 medley relays on Friday, the Bulldogs continued their dominance in the relay events on Saturday, claiming the 200 medley and 400 free relays. Cameron Hessler (Southbury, Conn.), Graham Beck (Danvers, Mass.), Nicholas Karadimas (New Milford, Conn.) and Steven Sinclair (Middleton, Mass.) combined on the 200 medley relay, touching the wall with a time of 1:39.21, nearly a second faster than the next team. Then, Karadimas and Sinclair teamed up with John Lawson (Bernardsville, N.J.) and Alex Kosenski (Lavallette, N.J.) to win the 400 free relay with a time of 3:12.93.

The Bulldogs also received strong performances in several individual events. Outside of helping the 200 medley team to victory, Beck won the 200 breast with a time of 2:11.65 and finished third in the 100 breast with a time of 1:00.62. Kosenski added Bryant's other first-place finish on the day, winning the 100 free with a time of 47.85. He also finished third in the 200 free (1:45.37). Karadimas also had a strong individual day, finishing second behind Kosenski in the 200 free (48.13) and third in the 100 fly (53.68). Freshmen Kevin Hong (Bridgewater, N.J.) and Conor Makepeace (Wallingford, Conn.) also had strong showings, as Hong finished second in the 1000 free (10:18.37) and Makepeace finished second in the 1 meter dive (249.45).

Bryant will now enjoy nearly a month layoff before returning to the pool during its annual trip to Puerto Rico on January 8.
