MSWM defeats Holy Cross, 170-125

BULLDOGS PREPARE FOR MAAC CHAMPIONSHIPS WITH VICTORY OVER HC

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Graduate student Alex Kosenski (Lavallette, N.J.) won three events and freshman Joshua Bjornberg (Wallingford, Conn.) won two events to lead the Bryant University men's swimming and diving team to a 170-125 victory over Holy Cross on Saturday (Feb. 2).

In their final dual meet of the season, the Bulldogs (5-3) snapped a two-game losing streak and will now prepare for the MAAC championships in two weeks.

Kosenski paced the Black and Gold on Saturday, winning the 50 free (22.02), the 100 free (47.92) and the 200 IM (2:07.77). Bjornberg continued his strong freshman campaign, claiming the 100 breast (1:01.16) and the 50 breast (28.08). He also finished second in the 100 fly (56.12).

Bryant also received victories from Brendan Miller-Radest (Chatham, N.J.), John Lawson (Bernardsville, N.J.), Cameron Hessler (Southbury, Conn.), Graham Beck (Danvers, Mass.), Nicholas Karadimas (New Milford, Conn.) and Conor Makepeace (Wallingford, Conn.).Miller-Radest won the 1000 free (10:15.46), Lawson claimed the 200 free (1:49.78), Hessler won the 50 back (26.21), Beck won the 500 free (4:56.25), Karadimas won the 50 fly (23.93) and Makepeace won the one meter dive (255.60). Bryant's 400 medley relay team of Steve Sinclair (Middleton, Mass.), Beck, Karadimas and Kosenski claimed first place with a time of 3:34.19.

The Bulldogs will have a week of rest before competing in the MAAC championships for the first time in program history. The championship meet begins on Thursday, Feb. 14.
