Bulldogs top Holy Cross on Senior Day

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Junior Graham Beck (Danvers, Mass.) won three individual events and set a new pool record in the 100 breast as the Bryant University men's swimming and diving team cruised to a 157-102 victory over Holy Cross on Saturday at the Chace Athletic Center.

Prior to the meet, the Bulldogs (4-5) honored their three seniors, Trevor Heller (Naugatuck, Conn.), Cameron Hessler (Southbury, Conn.) and Nicholas Karadimas (New Milford, Conn.).

Beck was outstanding against the Crusaders, winning the 200 free (1:49.10), 50 breast (26.84) and the 100 breast (58.49). He also helped the 400 yard medley relay team set a new pool record with a time of 3:34.15. The Bulldogs also received victories from Karadimas, Kevin Hong (Bridgewater, N.J.), Andrew Neggia (Ramsey, N.J.) and Pierre Le Guyader (East Islip, N.Y.). Swimming in the final home meet of his career, Karadimas won the 50 free (21.96) and the 200 IM (2:04.08). Hong won the 1000 (10:15.40), Neggia won the 500 (4:55.95) and LeGuyader won the 100 free (48.67).

The Bulldogs will now have two weeks to prepare for the MAAC Championship meet that will be held Feb. 13-15 in Buffalo, N.Y. Canisius and Niagara are serving as the championship hosts.
