Schulte helps Bulldogs past Friars on Friday

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Freshman Ben Schulte (Mermaid Beach, Australia) won three events to lead the Bryant University men's swimming and diving team to a victory over Providence on Friday night.

The Bulldogs downed the Friars, 176-104, to earn their first dual meet victory of the season.

A week after opening his collegiate career with a dominating effort, Schulte won three events against the Friars. He won the 400 free (4:13.40), 200 IM (2:07.88) and the 200 free (1:55.66).

Men's Top Performers

Graham Beck (Danvers, Mass.) won the 100 breast (1:06.77) and the 200 breast (2:31.38).

Brendan Miller-Radest (Chatham, N.J.) won the 200 fly (2:16.24) and was third in the 800 free (9:10.82).

Zachary Hannon (Marlborough, Conn.) won the 50 free with a time of 24.31.

Adam Gauthier (Middletown, Conn.) won the 1 meter dive with a point total of 227.00.

Joshua Bjornberg (Wallingford, Conn.) won the 100 fly with a time of 59.53 and finished second in the 100 free with a time of 54.97.

Colin Curtin (Wethersfield, Conn.) finished second in both the 800 free (8:55.38) and 100 back (1:02.23).
