Beck, Schulte lead Bulldogs past Iona

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Senior Graham Beck (Danvers, Mass.) won both breast events freshman Ben Schulte (Mermaid Beach, Australia) won three more events to lead the Bryant University men's swimming and diving team to a 158-140 victory over Iona on Saturday morning.

The Bulldogs have now won each of their last two dual meets on the season.

Beck had one of his best meets of the season, winning the 100 breast with a time of 1:00.61 and the 200 breast with a time of 2:11.84. Schulte continued his outstanding rookie campaign with victories in the 200 free (1:45.25), 500 free (4:47.96) and the 200 IM (1:56.64).

Top Performers

Pierre Le Guyader (East Islip, N.Y.) won the 100 free with a time of 49.19.

Ian Miller (Meriden, Conn.) won the 1 meter dive with a score of 223.55.

Andrew Neggia (Ramsey, N.J.) finished second in the 200 fly with a time of 2:02.18.

Colin Curtin (Wethersfield, Conn.), Beck, Joshua Bjornberg (Wallingford, Conn.) and Zachary Hannon (Marlborough, Conn.) combined to win the 200 medley with a time of 1:38.36.

Hannon, Le Guyader, Bjornberg and Schulte combined to win the 400 free with a time of 3:14.49.
