Bulldogs set school record in 200 medley relay, in fourth after day one of MAACs

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's swimming and diving team is in fourth place and has already broken a school record after day one of the MAAC Championships.

Rider won both the 200 medley and 800 free relays and is in first place with 80 points. The Bulldogs have 60 after finishing fourth in both events.

Bryant set a school record for the second-straight year in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:31.97. Colin Curtin (Wethersfield, Conn.) swam the lead leg and was followed by Graham Beck (Danvers, Mass.), Joshua Bjornberg (Wallingford, Conn.) and Pierre Le Guyader (East Islip, N.Y.).

In the 800 free relay, Ben Schulte (Mermaid Beach, Australia) nearly broke a four-year old school record with a time of 1:39.16 in the opening 200 free. He was followed by Damian Parzych (Farmington, Conn.), Curtin and Beck. The Bulldogs finished fourth with a time of 6:49.63.

Day two of the MAAC Championships kicks off at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday from Buffalo, N.Y.
