Schulte earns CSCAA Scholar All-American honors

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Following another incredible performance in and out of the pool this past winter, Bryant University men's swimming and diving sophomore Ben Schulte (Tumon, Guam) has been named a College Swimming & Diving Coaches Athletic Association (CSCAA) Honorable Mention Scholar All-American, the organization announced earlier this week.

Schulte becomes the first swimmer in Division I program history to earn Scholar All-American honors and is one of 928 students to earn honorable mention. A record 853 swimmers and divers earn first team All-American honors.

The CSCAA Scholar All-American program recognizes those swimmers and divers that have achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and have participated in their respective NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. Honorable Mention selections must also meet the 3.50 grade point average and have earned an NCAA "B" cut or competed at a regional or zone qualifying meet.

Schulte was dominant in the pool for the second-straight year this winter, failing to win just 10 events throughout the year. He won three gold medals, set three individual school records and helped four relay teams set school records and win medals at the MAAC Championships. He earned an NCAA "B" cut in the 100 breast, winning the event with a time of 54.33.
