Schulte earns MAAC Men's Swimmer of the Week

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Senior Ben Schulte (Tumon, Guam) was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week after his 4-for-4 performance against Marist on Saturday, the league announced Wednesday.

Schulte won all three of his individual races against the Red Foxes, taking home first in the 100 breast (57.26), 200 breast (2:07.66) and 200 IM (1:57.83). He also anchored the Bulldogs' 400 free relay, swimming the final leg in 46.91.

The senior is the second Bulldog to be named as the Men's Swimmer of the Week by the conference, with freshman Matthew Mays (St. Croix, Virgin Islands) taking home two honors in the fall segment of the 2017-18 swimming season.

Schulte returns to competition at the Chace Athletic Center Pool for one last dual meet on Saturday, when the Bulldogs host Holy Cross at 1:00 p.m.
