Bulldogs fall to Cornell Friday

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's swimming and diving team fell to Cornell, 158-84, on Friday night at the Chace Athletic Center Pool.

Coach Cameron's Thoughts

"We came up a bit short today. I liked the way we raced. We did a good job of getting out fast and fitting in the end. A couple of close races ended in our favor proving we can fight to the end. I am looking forward to another great day of racing at home tomorrow."

How the Swimmers Fared

  • Graduate student Micah Ornelas (San Diego, Calif.) won the 100 fly with a time of 48.80. He also finished second in the 50 free (21.40).
  • Bryant also received second-place finishes from Matthew Mays (St. Croix, Virgin Islands) and Tavish Boyle (Springfield, N.J.). Mays finished second in the 100 back, while Boyle was second in the 100 breast.

How the Divers Fared

  • Sophomore Trevor Hazlewood (Corpus Christi, Texas) was Bryant's top finisher in both the 1-meter and 3-meter events. He finished fourth in the 3-meter and third in the 1-meter.
