Swim & Dive contribute to Swim Across America’s Rhode Island event

NARRAGANSETT, R.I. – Despite the cancellation of the 2019 Swim Across America event in Narragansett, R.I. on Saturday due to weather, the Bryant University men's and women's swimming and diving team raised $12,426 for the non-profit organization. 

Swim Across America is a non-profit organization that runs events across the country to support cancer research at the best hospitals and institutions in the nation. The Rhode Island event raised $211,742 total for cancer research this year. Proceeds from this event go directly to the Women & Infants Hospital in Providence, R.I., the largest and most diverse oncology service for women in the Northeast.

The event's participaters comprised of numerous teams from around the region including Providence College, the University of Connecticut, Holy Cross, Brown, Northeastern, Assumption, Boston University and Roger Williams. 

Eliza Brant was the Bulldogs' top fundraiser for this year's event, bringing in a total of $930.
