Eight Swimmers Score Points at NIC's

ELKHART, IN- Eighteen members of the Bryant swimming teams competed over three days at the National Invitational Championships in Indiana. Eight Bulldogs scored points in six events. Freshman Griffin Lajoie and sophomore Calvin Groenewold led the way, each scoring in two relays and one individual event.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • The men's 400 medley relay team of Griffin Lajoie, Calvin Groenewold, Andrew Gamper, and Conner Lofstrom kicked off the scoring on Thursday, finishing 16th with a time of 3:19.56.

  • Lajoie, Groenewold, Lofstrom, and Reese Stevenson combined for another 16th place in the 200 medley relay on Day 2. They hit the wall with a final time of 1:30.78.

  • Natalia Kuipers scored for the women on Day 3, finishing 20th in the 1650 free with a time of 17:10.73.

  • Lajoie picked up the Bulldogs' best overall finish of the meet with a 12th place in the 200 back. He did so with a time of 1:47.16.

  • Groenewold swam a 2:01.16 in the 200 breast, good for 14th place, Bryant's second best result of the meet.

  • Lofstrom, Stevenson, Alex Rowson, and Chase Konstantakos rounded out the meet with a 16th place in the 400 free relay. They finished with a time of 3:02.41.

  • The men's team finished 24th overall with 46 total points.
