Eight Medals, Four Golds Highlight Third Day of America East Championships

WORCESTER, Mass.- The Bryant swimming and diving teams captured eight medals on Day 3 of the America East Championships, including four golds. Both men and women sit in the top three of the overall standings ahead of tomorrow's finale.

The Bulldogs were led by a sweep of the 100 backstroke, with Reagan Lord and Griffin Lajoie each taking wins. Sammi Grenon won her second IM of the week, taking gold in the 400, and Kyri Chambo closed her Bryant career with a win in the one-meter dive.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • Kyri Chambo started off the finals with a winning score of 254.25 in the one-meter. It was her sixth career gold across NEC and America East competition. Sydney Barnett also placed, finishing fifth.

  • Sammi Grenon completed the sweep of the individual medleys with a winning time of 4:19.19 in the 400. She was joined by Natalia Kuipers (eighth) in the A-final.

  • Julia Stenhard took silver in the 100 fly, swimming a 55.35, just 0.01 seconds off the gold medal time set by Vermont's Halley Laney. Erin Doruska also finished fifth in the event for Bryant.

  • Conner Lofstrom took his first medal of the week with a silver in the 200 free. He finished with a time of 1:37.63.

  • Reagan Lord won gold in the 100 back with a time of 54.51. She was joined on the podium by Stenhard, who took bronze with a time of 55.79

  • Griffin Lajoie completed the event sweep with a gold in the men's 100 back, hitting the wall at 48.49.

  • The men's 400 medley relay quartet of Lajoie, Tyler Stringfellow, Mason Campbell, and Chase Konstantakos rounded out the night with a bronze, swimming a 3:19.45.

  • Nellie Clark (100 breast, fifth), Jill Carline (200 free, fifth), Doruska (200 free, seventh), Campbell (100 fly, fifth), Aidan Trenery (400 IM, fourth), and Roman San Juan (400 IM, sixth) also scored in the A-finals for the Bulldogs.
