BULLDOGS FINISH THE WEEKEND 18-9 OVERALL, WINNING THREE FLIGHTS

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's tennis team had an impressive showing over the weekend at the UConn Invitational, winning two singles flights and one doubles flight.

Junior captain Dana Parziale (Pinehurst, N.C.) finished the weekend undefeated (6-0) winning both his singles and doubles flights while freshman Arklon Huertas Del Pino (Lima, Peru) completed a great weekend with a 5-1 record, winning his individual singles flight, as well.

Reigning Northeast Conference Player of the Week Vidith Huot (Providence, R.I.) continued his stellar play advancing to the finals on his individual flight in the singles competition and the finals of his doubles flight with partner Ernesto Arguello (Managua, Nicaragua).

In doubles play, the Bulldogs advanced to three of four individual flight finals, with the duo of Paraziale and Max Vogt (Fiar Oaks, Calif.) winning flight number three. The biggest win for the duo en route to the championship was an opening round, 8-0, rout of defending MAAC Champions, Fairfield.

Bryant finished weekend play with an overall 18-9 record, advancing to six of 12 flight finals and winning three championships.

"It was a solid three-day performance," said Bryant head coach Ron Gendron. "I'm pleased with the way we competed as a whole."

"We transitioned from doubles to singles very well and are looking to improve on these positive results next weekend at Quinnipiac."

The Bulldogs continue their fall season over the weekend when they head to Hamden, Conn., for the Quinnipiac Invitational from Friday, Oct. 5-Sunday Oct. 7.
