Bulldogs impressive at Quinnipiac

MEN'S TENNIS WINS BIG AT QUINNIPIAC INVITATIONAL

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's tennis team had an extremely impressive showing over the weekend at the Quinnipiac Invitational.

In one of the toughest events of the year, the Bulldogs fought through three long days of competition to win three of six flights overall, finishing 28-11 for the tournament.

Freshmen Arklon Huertas Del Pino (Lima, Peru) and Max Vogt (Fair Oaks, Calif.) each won their individual singles flight, defeating four difficult opponents in the process. The duo of junior Dana Parziale (Pinehurst, N.C.) and Vogt defeated four pairings en route to a doubles flight championship, as well.

Del Pino teamed with Zachary Morris (Garden City, N.Y.) reached the final of their doubles flight, not to be outdone by Guillaume Sabourin (Dubai, United Arab Emirates), who advanced to his second flight final of the year.

"This is by far one of the most grueling events that we compete in," said Bryant head coach Ron Gendron. "Collectively more than 30 hours of tennis was played."

"Accompanied with extremely tough competition, it was great to see our team not only advance to multiple finals, but win three of them."

The Bulldogs look to continue their early season success on Sunday, Oct. 14 when they head to Hartford, Conn., for a pair of dual matches against the University of Hartford and Hofstra University.
