Bulldogs compete at ITA Regionals

MEN'S TENNIS COMPETES AT ITA REGIONALS OVER THE WEEKEND IN NEW HAVEN, CONN.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's tennis team competed at the ITA Northeast Regional's over the weekend at Yale University.

Freshman Max Vogt (Fair Oaks, Calif.) and junior Dana Parziale (Pinehurst, N.C.) both won the opening round of their singles action.

Vogt defeated NJIT's Erik Artursson, 6-3, 6-1, before falling to Vim De Alwis of Penn, 6-2, 6-7, 6-0, while Parziale took down Army's Austin McCasin, 6-4, 6-1, but fell to David Raymond of Niagara, 6-4, 6-2.

Zachary Morris (Garden City, N.Y.) also competed in singles action, falling to Blaine Willenborg of Penn in a highly contested game, 7-5, 6-7, 6-3.

In doubles action, Morris and Arklon Huertas Del Pino (Lima, Peru) fell to the pairing of Fife and Spector from Brown, 8-3.

The Bulldogs will break for the months of November and December before picking back up with competition in January. Bryant will open 2013 with a trip to Boston College on Monday, Jan. 21.
