Men's tennis rolls Stony Brook, 4-0

BULLDOGS OPEN SPRING BREAK WITH 4-0 WIN OVER STONY BROOK SATURDAY NIGHT

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – In its first match of a jam-packed Spring Break week, the Bryant University men's tennis team defeated Stony Brook, 4-0, Saturday evening at Rally Point.

In doubles action, the pairing of Zachary Morris (Garden City, N.Y.) and Dana Parziale (Pinehurst, N.C.) defeated Mons Knudtzon and Joe Morales, 8-7, while Ernesto Arguello (Managua, Nicaragua) and Vidith Huot (Providence, R.I.) clinched the doubles point, 8-7, topping Robert Forai and Marcelo Locatelli.

The Bulldogs dominated singles play as Parziale continued to roll through opponents, taking care of Rick Timmerman, 6-2, 6-2 in the first single position. Morris was also dominant in the second spot overcoming David Lingston, 7-3, 6-1, while freshman Max Vogt (Fair Oaks, Calif.) was impressive once again defeating Morales, 7-6, 6-2, to clinch the match for the Black and Gold.

"This is a real solid win for us," said Bryant head coach Ron Gendron. "This is as tough as we have been as a team all season which is huge entering the big week ahead."

The Bulldogs will have a short turnaround as they hit the road for matches at Villanova, Mount St. Mary's and Georgetown over Spring Break.
