Bryant drops tough-one at Villanova

MEN'S TENNIS DROPS DIFFICULT DECISION IN PHILADELPHIA WEDNESDAY

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – In its first outdoor action of the spring season, the Bryant University men's tennis team dropped a tough decision to Villanova, 4-3, on a rainy Wednesday in Philadelphia.

In doubles action, the duo of Zachary Morris (Garden  City, N.Y.) and reigning Northeast Conference Player of the Week Dana Parziale (Pinehurst, N.C.) continued their hot streak, defeating the Wildcat paring of O'Brien and Dondalson, 8-6, however Villanova secured the doubles point with wins in the other two matches.

In singles action, Bryant dominated #1-3 as Morris and Parziale earned convicning victories in the #1 and #2 singles positions, respectively. In #3 singles, freshman Max Vogt (Fair Oaks, Calif.) continued his strong rookie campaign, earning a 7-5, 6-4 victory over Peyton, but the host Wildcats came back to win #4-#6 singles, securing the match win.

The Bulldogs will have a short turnaround as they prepare for just their second NEC match of the season Thursday against Mount St. Mary's at 3 p.m.
