Men's tennis rolling at USTA Invite

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – At the halfway point of the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center's Men's College Invitational, the Bryant University men's tennis team is looking sharp as ever.

In just their third tournament of the fall, the Bulldogs appear to be in mid-season form, led by the play of their captains, senior Dana Parziale (Pinehurst, N.C.) and junior Ernesto Arguello (Managua, Nicaragua).

Through two matches in singles play, Arguello is a perfect 2-0 with wins over Arnaud Valentin of Fairleigh Dickinson and Morgan St.'s Evan Ward. In doubles action, the tandem earned a pair of big wins over BC's McGinnis and Nelson and Marist's Dube/Solly.

Freshman Oliver Welsh (San Diego, Calif.) earned his way into the flight C semifinals with two convincing victories himself, topping Fairfield's Cameron Amyot in the round of 16 and Sacred Heart's Justin Pagan in the quarterfinals.

The Bulldogs will continue action at the USTA on Saturday and Sunday
