Parziale, Morris impressive over holiday break

Senior Dana Parziale (Pinehurst, N.C.) and junior Zachary Morris (Garden City, N.Y.) of the Bryant University men's tennis team were in action over the holiday break, competing in the USTA National Men's Open Indoor Championship at the National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y.

Parziale and Morris represented the Bulldogs in the loaded field of over 180 players. Morris, coming off a semester abroad, posted two impressive wins over Milo Hauk of St. John's and nationally ranked Murphey Parker before falling in the round of 32 to College of Charleston's Charles Ghriskey.

Parziale, who was seeded ninth overall in the tournament, put together a trio of wins over Salisbury's Daniel Albers, Florida's Jason Derijk, and nationally ranked Alex Van Cott of Tulane before falling in the round of 16 to Elon's Cameron Silverman.

The Bulldog duo also took to the doubles court reaching the round of 16 before falling to eventual finalists Hadavi/Hamanaka of Columbia.  

The Black and Gold are set to open their spring season on Jan. 18 with a doubleheader vs. Dartmouth and Villanova in Hanover, N.H.
