Men's tennis set to face #3 Ohio St. in NCAA Tournament

NCAA Championship Bracket

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Coming off the program's first-ever Northeast Conference Title, the Bryant University men's tennis team will head to Columbus, Ohio, to play #3 overall seed Ohio St. on Friday May 9 at 1 p.m. in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Bulldogs, who finished the regular season 18-10 overall, put together a year to remember, playing the most difficult schedule in Bryant tennis history; a slate which included six nationally ranked opponents and over 25 dual matches.

"It is a great honor to represent the Northeast Conference in this season's NCAA Tournament," said Bryant head coach Ron Gendron. "And it gives us an opportunity to play against one of the very best teams in the country."

Bryant wrapped up the magical season on an eight-game win streak, going through St. Francis Brooklyn, Sacred Heart, and Fairleigh Dickinson at the conference championships to clinch the NEC Crown.

Next up for the Black and Gold are the Big 10 Champion Ohio St. Buckeyes, who earned the #3 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament after an impressive 30-3 season. The Buckeyes ran through the Big 10 this year, going 11-0 en route to their eighth league championship.
