SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's tennis team fell to No. 11 Texas in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday afternoon in Austin.

• The Longhorns won the doubles points with victories at No. 1 and No. 3. Redshirt junior Matt Kuhar (Smithfield, R.I.) and junior Artur Jakubowski (Dallas, Texas) fell 6-3 at No. 1.
• Senior Luke Lorenz (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and freshman Grant Pertile (Edgartown, Mass.) fell 6-2 at No. 3.

• No. 110 Christian Sigsgaard defeated Kuhar, 6-1, 6-4.
• Lorenz battled No. 52 Yuya Ito before it went unfinished. Ito won the first set, 6-4, but the second set was tied 6-6.
• No. 89 Harrison Scott defeated Jakubowski, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3 singles.
• Junior Michael Plutt (Weston, Fla.) dropped his first set to No. 93 Leonardo Telles, 7-5, and was down 4-0 in the second.
• Jorge Ortiz-Garcia (Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico) dropped his first set, 6-0, but was tied 5-5 in the second set when it went unfinished.
