After a rough weekend in which they lost three of four games to St. Rose and Le Moyne, the Bulldog softball team got back in the win column with a 2-game sweep of Merrimack. The Dogs took the first contest 3-0 behind a shutout from Janine Enos (Wareham, Mass.). The Bulldogs bats came alive in the second game, belting out 14 hits in an 18-4 win.

Enos (8-6) turned in a strong outting, going seven innings, scattering three hits and striking out five warriors. The Bulldogs jumped ahead in the first inning on an Amanda Gagne (Wilbraham, Mass.) RBI single that scored Lindsay Connor (West Haven, CT). The Bulldogs would tack on a second on a Briana Durborow (Ringoes, NJ) RBI single and would not look back in the win.

In the second, Anne Dobmeier (Buffalo, NY) got her fourth (4-1) win of the season. Four Bulldogs turned in multiple hit games, led by Connor who was two for three with two runs scored. Senior Amanda Wilbur (Lakeville, Mass.) was three for three with two RBI.

The Bulldogs rallied from a 2-1 deficit with a four-run third inning that was capped by a two-run Kate Thomas (Bedford, NH) single and a two-run homer by freshman Alison Chouinard (Swansea, Mass.).

A three run sixth inning led by a two-run double by Jessica Valentini (Cliffside Park, NJ) broke the game wide open. Senior pitcher Nikki Ingalls (Westford Mass.) got the final six outs for her second save of the season.

The Bulldogs will return to action tomorrow in Manchester, NH with a doubleheader at St. Anselm. The games will mark the eight played in a brutal four game stretch. The Bulldogs' home finale is Tuesday, May 1 at 3pm versus Bentley.
