2007 Season Outlook: Wilbur will anchor the
outfield again from center field and provide a force in the middle
of the lineup. A tremendous combination of speed and power who
should challenge for All-Northeast-10 honors, she is already
Bryant's all-time leader in home runs. Wilbur is also within
striking distance of the school records in triples, stolen bases,
put-outs, and doubles.
As a Junior: After returning to the outfield,
Wilbur flourished with a .353 batting average in 2006. She had 14
stolen bases for the second straight year and led the team with
eight home runs. She was selected to the Northeast-10
All-Conference First Team and Second Team All-Region.
As a Sophomore: Started in all 46 games and had
a team high 14 stolen bases. She hit .336 including five doubles
and three homeruns, and was second on the team in runs scored with
31. She was honored as a third-team All-Northeast-10 Conference
selection.
As a Freshman: A first Team All-Northeast-10
Conference selection after leading the Bulldogs with a .382 batting
average and 52 hits. Amanda had a .596 slugging percentage which
still ranks as the fifth-best season in school history. She had
four hits in three NCAA games including a 2-for-4 performance with
two runs in a win over New Haven.
Before Bryant: Amanda is a 2003 graduate of
Apponequet High School where she was a team captain, four-year
letterwinner, league all-star and team MVP. She was also a team
captain and four-year letterwinner in basketball and volleyball.
Wilbur was also an honor roll student and a Boston Globe
all-scholastic honoree.
Personal: Amanda Rose Wilbur was born June 11,
1985. She is the daughter of Steven and Barbara Wilbur. Amanda is a
Management Major.
