SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Proving why she is one of the top pitchers in the Northeast-10 Conference, Bryant University softball standout Janine Enos (Wareham, MA) showed why Thursday afternoon.  The Bulldog senior tossed a complete-game no-hitter in leading the Bulldogs to a 3-0 win in the first game and came on late in the second to help preserve a 4-3 win to complete a two-game Northeast-10 Conference sweep at the Bryant Softball Complex.

Enos, who entered the game with a league-best 1.54 ERA, walked just two batters and struck out three to earn her 11th win of the season.  The Bulldogs would load the bases in the bottom of the first but could not get a run across the plate.  UML centerfielder Stacey Lajoie (Gardner, MA) helped keep the game scoreless with an outstanding diving catch on a drive by Bryant's Anne Dobmeier (Buffalo, NY) with the bases load.

But the Bulldogs would push two runs across in the second as Regina Burdo (Wayne, NJ) lined a one-out double and would move to third on a wild pitch and score on a passed ball.  Jennifer Serrano (Stoneham, MA) would follow with a single and would come around to score from first base following a double down the left field line by Allison Chouinard (Swansea, MA)

The runs would be all Enos would need as she would retire 15 of the next 17 batters and got Lindsey Farmer (Kingston, NH) to end the game with a strikeout.

U Mass Lowell would threaten early in the second, putting two runners in scoring position in the first and loading the bases in the second.  But starter Samantha Houseal (Mount Joy, PA) would get out of the jam with solid defense led by Chouinard at shortstop and Jessica Valentini (Cliffside Park, NJ) at third.

Serrano would get a two-run rally going in the third by leading off the inning with a double and two batters later the senior would score on a double by Valentini to make it 2-0 Bryant.  The Bulldogs would make it 3-0 as Kate Thomas (Bedford, NH) hit her league-best sixth triple of the season to the gap in right-center to score Valentini from first.

Leading 4-0 heading into the top of the seventh, UML would get to Houseal for three runs and keyed by a Heather Ross (Waltham, MA) double.  With the tying run at third and the go-ahead run at second with one-out, Enos came in and picked up her second save of the season by striking out Emily Wolf (Salem, NH) and Stephanie Rollo (Dracut, MA) to end the game.

Bryant will travel to Saint Rose on Saturday and visit Le Moyne Sunday for a key conference doubleheader in Syracuse, NY.
