Smithfield, RI- Junior Kate Thomas (Bedford, NH) went five for five with three RBIs, including a walk off home run in the first game of a doubleheader sweep of Pace. The outfielder finished the day with four runs scored and four extra base hits.

 Senior Janine Enos

PItcher Janine Enos (Wareham, Mass.) tossed a gem in in the first game, allowing only one unearned run while striking out eight in five innings. Enos (4-2) faced only three batters over the limit and retired the final thirteen batters in order. The win moves her one victory short of the school record with 39, behind only Nicole Keene (Class of '04).

A balanced offensive attack for the Bulldogs got on the board first in game one when the Bulldogs pushed across three runs, two on a bases clearing triple by Thomas.

The Bulldogs broke the game open in the third with five runs, all unearned. Two innings later, Thomas launched a deep home run over the center field wall to put the Bulldogs up 9-1 and end the game via the 8-run mercy rule. The home run moved Thomas into a tie for fourth place with Jordan Dargon (Class of '06) with eight career bombs.

Anne Dobmeier (Buffalo, NY) opened the scoring with a home run over the left center wall in the Bryant half of the second inning. It was the junior-transfer's first home run in a Bulldog uniform.

Freshman Samantha Houseal (Mount Joy, PA) tossed seven innings for the win, her first at the Bryant Softball Complex. Houseal (2-2) allowed just five hits and struck out two batters to earn the win.

Stephanie Mirando (North Haven, CT) tallied two hits and knocked in two RBIs on the afternoon.

The Bulldogs return to action tomorrow at 12pm with a doubleheader with C.W. Post. The Bulldogs and Pioneers battled in last year's NCAA Regional final game at C.W. Post's campus in Brookville, NY. The Pioneers took that game 2-0 to advance to the College World Series.
