April 5,  2008        Game 1 Box  / Game 2 Box

Garden City, NY - Bulldog starters Janine Enos (Wareham, Mass) and Samantha Houseal (Mount Joy, PA) combined to allow just one unearned run in 15.2 innings Saturday to secure a split with Adelphi Saturday afternoon.

The Bulldogs and Houseal (4-4) dropped a heartbreaker 1-0 in game one of the doubleheader which was delayed two hours due to poor field conditions at Adelphi's field. The freshman starter shut the Panthers out for seven innings before allowing a single to Diana DiPiano to score Dely Francisco. Francisco had been placed on second to start the inning because the game went to extra innings. Panther starter Julie Schaper shut the Bulldog offense down on just 3 hits to earn the victory.

Senior starter Enos righted the ship for the Bulldogs in game two, shutting the Panthers out on just three hits in seven masterful innings. Enos (7-3) lowered her team-leading ERA to 1.67 and earned her third win of the week after finishing last week 3-1 and earning NE-10 Pitcher of the Week honors.

Jennifer Serrano (Stoneham, Mass.) knocked three hits out of the leadoff spot for the Bulldogs. Serrano and number three and four hitters Ali Chouinard (Swansea, Mass.) and Jessica Valentini (Cliffside Park, NJ) got on base a combined six times, setting the table for middle of the order hitters Kate Thomas (Bedford, NH) and Alex Pearson (North Dighton, Mass.). Thomas would knock in two runs to set the tempo in the first inning and Pearson would get another RBI for the Bulldogs.

Ashley Coon (Levittown, PA) would also chip in two hits and an RBI for Bryant.

The Bulldogs will return to action Sunday with a 12noon doubleheader at American International College in Springfield, Mass.
