2008 Season Outlook:Was named a captain in the offseason and will look to provide leadership and steady offensive for the young Bulldogs. Will look to make another NE-10 All-Conference team as she did when she was a sophomore and could emerge as a dark horse candidate for NE-10 Player of the Year, an honor that has gone to a Bulldog the last three years(Deirdre Kitteredge, Jordan Dargon, Amanda Wilbur). Her defense at third base will be important to the Bulldogs' young pitching staff.
As a Junior: Finished the season with a .299 batting average while starting all 46 games at third base. Valentini led the team with 12 doubles and had a slugging percentage of .409. She also showed a knack for getting on base, finishing second behind NE-10 Player of the Year Amanda Wilbur with a .386 OBP. She led the team with 15 walks and was hit by pitch five times.
As a Sophomore: A Second team All-Conference selection, Valentini led the team in hitting after taking over the third base job and finished with a .354 average, .410 on-base percentage and 16 extra base hits.
As a Freshman: Hit .412 in 10 games, taking over
the third base position late in the season. She finished the year
with two extra base hits and 2 RBI in just 17 at bats.
Before Bryant: Jessica is a 2004 graduate of Immaculate Heart Academy where she was a three-time all-county honorable mention and four-year varsity member. Her team captured two county championships and one state title.
Personal: Jessica Lynn Valentini was born March 30, 1986. She is the daughter of Linda and Vincent Valentini. Her sister Leah played softball at Seton Hall. Jessica is a Marketing major.
