Bio

As a Freshman: Bowen established herself as the starting second baseman for almost the whole season as a freshman, starting 41 of Bryant's 42 games. She finished the season first on the team in walks with 16 and stolen bases with 5, while ranking fourth in runs scored with 13. A solid defensive player, Bowen made just seven errors while finishing second on the team in assists with 85 and third in putouts with 75. She finished the year with a .953 fielding percentage. The freshman collected her first career hit against Dartmouth, finishing the game with a three-for-four performance with two runs scored, an RBI and her first career home run. She finished the year with five-multi hit games, including four two-hit performances. Bowen drove in seven runs for the year while batting .162 with a home run and two doubles. 

Before Bryant: Laura is a 2008 graduate of Hudson High School where she was a four year member of both the varsity softball and basketball teams. She helped lead her softball team to a State Championship in 2007 and to the State Finals in 2006 and 2008. Her team was lead League Champions all four years she was on the team. She was named a League All-Star all four years and was named the League MVP her senior year. Laura was an honor roll student and also senior class treasurer.

Personal: Laura Elizabeth Bowen was born October 3, 1989. She is the daughter of Leonard and Susan Bowen. Sister Katie played softball at Sacred Heart and sister Melissa played softball at Salve Regina. Laura is an undecided business major.
