Softball announces schedule changes for next week

Updated Schedule

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University softball team has announced two changes to its schedule for the final week of the 2011-12 season, head coach Lisa-Ann Wallace announced today.

The Bulldogs, scheduled to conclude the season on Saturday, May 5, will now host Fairleigh Dickinson on that afternoon for a Northeast Conference doubleheader slated to begin at 1 p.m. The program will honor its three graduating players in a Senior Day ceremony before the games begin. Bryant was originally scheduled to host Fairleigh Dickinson this past Sunday, April 22, but rainy weather forced a postponement of those games.

Bryant will also now host Central Connecticut State for a conference doubleheader on Thursday, May 3, with the two-game set scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. The Bulldogs were originally slated to play the Blue Devils at home on April 6 before rescheduling those games for May 5. However, with the Fairleigh Dickinson doubleheader being moved to that date, the Bulldogs and Blue Devils will instead play two days earlier.

As a consequence of these changes, Bryant and Boston College will no longer play their anticipated makeup game next week after their originally scheduled contest on Thursday, April 12, was rained out.
