SOFTBALL FALLS TO SYCAMORES, 10-2, ON DAY 2 OF TIGER INVITE

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University softball team continued play at the Tiger Invitational Tournament in Auburn, Ala., falling to Indiana St., 10-2, Saturday afternoon in the Bulldog's second day of competition.

Senior Christina Eringis (Tewksbury, Mass.) recorded the lone RBI for Bryant (1-2) on Saturday, notching a single in her only at bat of the afternoon. Junior Taylor Bell (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) finished the day 1-3 with a double and a run scored, while sophomore Jessica Benacquista (Belleville, N.J.) also went 1-3, scoring the other Bryant run.

Senior Brittany Hart (North Andover, Mass.) started the game for the Black and Gold, pitching 2.1 innings, allowing five earned runs, while striking out five. Senior Jennifer Jacob (Deer Park, N.Y.) hurled three innings in relief, also giving up five runs to the Sycamores (three earned).

After two, the score stood tie, 1-1, but three Indiana St. runs in the third inning and two more in the fourth would be too much for Bryant to overcome.

The Bulldogs will have an opportunity to get back to .500 on Sunday when they close out the Tiger Invitational against Kansas. Opening pitch is set for 10 a.m. ET.
