SOFTBALL CLOSES OUT TIGER INVITATIONAL WITH 1-3 MARK

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – In its final day at the Tiger Invitational Tournament in Auburn, Ala., the Bryant University softball team dropped a 10-2 decision to the University of Kansas Sunday afternoon.

The Jayhawks (7-2) posted seven runs through the first three innings before the Bulldogs (1-3) scored on a Kendall Corder (Carmichael, Calif.) two-run double in the top of the fifth inning. Kansas tallied three more runs in the bottom of the fifth to wrap up the contest.

Corder and junior Aubrey Mable (Aurora, Colo.) each belted doubles, while classmates Lauren Guy (La Habra, Calif.) and Taylor Bell (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) both picked up singles, accounting for Bryant's four hits.

Senior Brittany Hart (North Andover, Mass.) picked up the loss, allowing seven runs (five earned) and six hits in two innings of work. Classmate Jennifer Jacob (Deer Park, N.Y.) gave up three runs in 2.1 innings of relief.

Bryant will have almost a month before returning to the diamond in March when they head out west for eight games in San Diego, Calif., including five at the San Diego Classic (March 14-16).
