Softball vs. BC Tuesday moved to Smithfield 4 p.m.

BRYANT SOFTBALL VS. BC TUESDAY MOVED TO SMITHFIELD, 4:00 P.M.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – After just one day off between games, the Bryant University softball team will host ACC-foe Boston College on Tuesday in Smithfield at 4 p.m.

Originally scheduled to be played in Chestnut Hill, Mass., the location Tuesday's contest was changed to Smithfield to due inclement weather conditions at Boston College.

The Bulldogs enter Tuesday's action with a 5-11 overall mark, 1-3 in Northeast Conference play after opening up league play over the weekend at Mount St. Mary's and Monmouth. The Black and Gold picked up their first NEC win of the season in Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader vs. The Mountaineers in convincing fashion, 10-3.

Senior Talia Zizza (Reading, Mass.) paced Bryant with a .500 average in three games over the weekend, picked up three RBI, three runs scored and a pair of doubles in just three games. Junior Aubrey Mable (Aurora, Colo.) continued her stellar campaign hitting .385 with a team-best five hits and four RBI. On the mound, senior Brittany Hart (North Andover, Mass.) was solid despite her 0-2 record, allowing just four earned runs in 10.2 innings pitched (2.62 ERA).

The Eagles come to Smithfield sporting a 7-14 overall mark, 0-3 in ACC action thus far. Junior outfielder Tory Speer leads BC with a .400 batting average and a team-best 24 hits. Speer also sits atop the BC leaders in power numbers, posting eight home runs, 17 RBI and a .867 slugging percentage. Freshman outfielder Megan Cooley ranks second in average at .343 with 23 hits to go along with her six stolen bases. The balanced BC rotations is led by sophomore Andrea Filler who comes into Tuesday with a 7.19 era in 49.2 innings pitched.

The Bulldogs will look to get back on track on Tuesday with the hopes of closing March on a winning note.
