SOFTBALL HEADS TO UCONN THURSDAY (4 P.M.) LOOKING TO SNAP TWO-GAME SKID

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University softball team heads to Storrs, Conn., where they look to earn win number 15 vs. the University of Connecticut on Thursday (4 p.m.).

The Bulldogs (14-19, 5-9 Northeast Conference) enter Thursday's contest dropping 3 of 4 over the weekend in addition to a back-and-forth affair on Tuesday, resulting in an 8-6 loss to Boston University. Junior outfielder, Lauren Guy (La Habra, Calif.) continues to pound the ball through the gaps, hitting .471 (8-for-17) with 3 homeruns over the last 5 games. Most recently vs. BU, she scored 2 runs with 3 hits, including a homerun. Classmate Aubrey Mable (Aurora, Colo.) remains on-fire at the plate as well, notching at least one hit in 20 of the last 21 games. Over the last 5 games, Mable is batting .500 (8-for-16), while scoring six runs and collecting eight hits (three homeruns). She currently leads the Bulldogs in hits (44) and RBI (31) on the season.

On Tuesday, Bryant ran into a resilient BU team, who surmounted multiple-run deficits twice, knotting the game up, 4-4, in the 4th inning, eventually earning an 8-6 lead in the sixth to earn the victory.

The Huskies (18-20, 3-8 Northeast Conference) enter the game after topping Rhode Island, 11-2, on Wednesday. Kim Silva leads UConn with a .374 average, with three homeruns and 13 RBI. Maddy Schiappa enters Thursday with a team-best 50 hits, while Audrey Grinnell boasts five homers to lead the Huskies. Kiki Saveriano leads her team with a 2.42 era with 117 strikeouts in 144.2 innings pitched.

Bryant looks to get back to its winning ways and regain momentum heading into the weekend when they welcome NEC-foe Sacred Heart to Smithfield on Saturday.
