Mable named to Capital One Academic All-District I team

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – After helping lead her team to its first Northeast Conference Regular Season Title, senior shortstop Aubrey Mable (Aurora, Colo.) of the Bryant University softball team was recognized for her achievements in the classroom, as she was named to the Capital One Academic All-District I team.

Mable becomes just the first Bryant softball player to earn Academic All-District honors and is now in the running for Academic All-America honors.

A Communication major with a triple minor in marketing, business administration and psychology, Mable currently boasts a 3.64 GPA in her final semester in Smithfield and was named the NCAA Woman of the Year at the annual Bryant Athletic Awards Banquet last week.

On the field, Mable has put together another outstanding season for the Bulldogs, hitting .340 with 48 hits, 38 runs scored, 12 doubles, eight homeruns and 29 RBI. In her career, Mable currently ranks in the top five in every offensive statistical category in Bryant history, including first in homeruns, doubles, and runs scored.

Over the weekend, Mable will lead her team in its first Division I postseason appearance when the Bulldogs host the NEC Tournament beginning Thursday in Smithfield.
