Bulldogs take on Danes and Terriers Tuesday at 3 p.m. and Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Conaty Park

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – After going 3-1 over the weekend, the Bryant University softball team takes a timeout from Northeast Conference play to host Albany on Tuesday at 3 p.m. and Boston University on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

Seniors Hayley Bottino (Canyon Country, Calif.) and Elle Madsen (Wheat Ridge, Colo.) are both coming off a strong weekend. Bottino went 3-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles in the 5-1 game one win over Mount St. Mary's on Sunday. Madsen combined for 20 strikeouts in 24.0 innings, as she finished 3-1 on the mound against Wagner and Mount. The captain also went 4-for-4 in the 3-0 game one win over Wagner on Saturday, recording one run and a double.

The Bulldogs are 5-6 against the Danes (24-11, 7-0 America East) in Division I history, most recently losing, 6-0, at Albany on April 7, 2015. The Danes enter the contest after a four-game sweep over Coppin State over the weekend. Albany bats .326 led by Elizabeth Snow, who hits .455 through 29 starts for the Danes. Snow also tops the team with 12 doubles, seven home runs and a .875 slugging percentage. Celeste Verdolivo has seen the most time on the mound, recording a 3.53 ERA, while striking out 55 batters.

Bryant sits 2-5 in Division I history against the Terriers (14-20, 2-4 Patriot League), most recently defeating BU, 7-5, at the Yale Invitation on March 23, 2014. The Terriers are coming off a 2-1 finish over Bucknell over the weekend, beating the conference foe, 2-1, on Sunday. BU averages .287, while Brittany Younan tops the squad, batting .373. Younan also leads the Terriers with a slugging percentage of .458 and ties the second-most two home runs this season. As a team, BU has knocked only eight out of the park, while their competitors have totaled 20 against them. Lauren Hynes is 9-10 on the mound for the Terriers, pitching a 2.63 ERA and leads the team with 91 strikeouts.

Action begins on Tuesday at Conaty Park at 3 p.m. against Albany and again on Wednesday against BU at 4 p.m.
