Bulldogs cement a spot in NEC tournament after sweeping CCSU and FDU over the weekend

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Dominating in the final weekend of regular season play, the Bryant University softball team secured a place in the Northeast Conference tournament after putting together a 9-7 league record.

The Bulldogs put themselves in a comfortable position at the end of their league slate by sweeping in the final weekend of conference play, defeating Central Connecticut, 3-2 and 5-3, on Saturday and Fairleigh Dickinson, 3-2 and 5-3, on Sunday.

The Bulldogs are currently ranked fourth in the conference, but with one weekend of makeup games still to be played by a handful of league opponents, the Black and Gold can climb as high as third or become tied in fourth with two potential competitors.
