Bulldogs close out regular season slate at Holy Cross and Massachusetts, Wednesday and Thursday at 4 p.m.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – With a spot in the Northeast Conference tournament and no league games to makeup, the Bryant University softball team winds down regular season play on the road against nonleague competitors, Holy Cross at 4 p.m. on Wednesday and Massachusetts at 4 p.m. on Thursday.

Peaking during the most crucial time of the year, the Bulldogs (11-33, 9-7 NEC) will once against test their improvement over the season against nonconference foes, as they are 2-26 this season against opposition outside the NEC and 1-5 against those teams in New England.

Wednesday's contest in Worcester marks the sixth meeting between the Bulldogs and Crusaders (7-33, 3-12 Patriot) in Division I with the series mark in Bryant's favor, 4-1. The Crusaders have struggled this season, piecing together only seven overall wins and are currently facing a 10-game losing streak. Taylor Moss and Taylor Wahler lead Holy Cross, batting .366 and .312, respectively, while the team averages .230. Moss also leads the Crusaders with 41 hits and 27 RBI, while totaling three of the team's nine home runs this season. In the circle, Gennifer Durham carries the staff with a 3.14 ERA, while currently earning 6-of-7 wins for the Crusaders.

The Bulldogs then turn their attention to their first-ever Division I meeting on Thursday with the Minutewomen (20-22, 12-6 A10), who rank third in the Atlantic-10 standings. Massachusetts most recently lost at La Salle, 10-8, but prior to the shortfall, the Minutewomen had won 10 of their last 11 games. Jena Cozza leads the unit, batting .366, but she is closely backed by teammates, Taylor Carbone and Erin Stacevicz, who bat .363 and .362, respectively. Cozza leads the Minutewomen with 49 hits, including a team-high nine home runs, while Carbone tops the chart with 33 RBI in her 42 starts. Meg Colleran has dominated in the circle, earning a 17-15 record on the year with a 2.23 ERA, while racking up 119 strikeouts in just over 200 innings pitched.
